Informazione e paura, hacktivismo, libera conoscenza, curiosità. Tutto questo è stato HackMeeting…o quasi.

L’edizione di quest’anno si è svolta a Milano, il 19-20-21 Giugno presso il Centro Sociale SOS Fornace di Rho.
Non vi parlerò dell’aria che si respira, perchè è impossibile. O ci sei o non lo sai.
Non vi parlerò dell’organizzazione, impeccabile sotto ogni punto di vista e portata avanti da volontari e senza nessun aiuto o finanziamento pubblico.

Quello di cui voglio parlarvi (ahimé) è di come lo spirito originale dell’HackIt secondo me stia lentamente scomparendo, lasciando il posto ad un fenomeno sociale privo della sostanza originale.
Tanti gli interventi interessanti sulla carta, ma purtroppo non tutti gli speaker sapevano davvero di cosa stavano parlando. Mi chiedo dove siano finiti i veri hacker.

Non ci credete? Ok, facciamo qualche esempio.

Un gruppo di ragazzi ha presentato un servizio di social network basato sull’uso pubblico del proprio indirizzo e-mail. Con uso pubblico intendo che qualsiasi persona, se lo vuole, può leggere la vostra posta e commentarla.
Domanda: “E la privacy?”. Risposta: “Nessuna privacy. Be free, Be public.” -.-
Ma come? E la crittografia? E il PGP? Io sono cresciuto a pane e Kriptonite!
Svegliati ragazzo, i tempi cambiano (e noi ci adattiamo al sistema).

Cacchio ragazzi, ma siamo all’HackMeeting! Non posso, non voglio vedere persone venute ad insegnarmi ad usare Linux e che al primo problema rispondono “Non so!”.
Ma non so un c§**o! Dovresti essere stato così tanto tempo a programmare Linux che i tuoi vestiti dovrebbero puzzare di Linus Torvald.
E perchè c’è così tanta gente che usa WinZoz? Chiamate subito Sant’IGNUzio Stallman che qui abbiamo urgente bisogno di un esorcista.

Per fortuna ci sono stati anche molti aspetti positivi.
L’organizzazione, come ho già detto. Hanno pensato a tutto e a tutti. Per fare un esempio, credo sia la prima volta che vedo ad un meeting menù diversi per vegetariani e vegani.
Caloroso il saluto dei ragazzi veneti, che offrivano a tutti il “Traitor”, una tipica bevanda veneta a base di succo di arancia, gin(?, non mi ricordo ne ho bevuti troppi) e miele.

Bellissimi e interessantissimi alcuni interventi.
Come quello di Magnus Erickson, venuto a raccontarci delle iniziative di The Pirate Bay contro la censura. Come quello di Mansour Aziz, mediattivista di Indymedia a Beirut, che ha parlato degli aspetti organizzativi e sociali del mediattivismo (scioccanti i video dei bombardamenti di Beirut). Come quello sulla situazione degli attivisti No Global in Europa o la chiacchierata sulla presunta fine della fantascienza.

In conclusione, la sensazione che ho avuto è che l’Hackmeeting stia diventando sempre più un fenomeno sociale distante dall’underground informatico, ma soprattutto dallo spirito hacker di un tempo. “Ma quanto sono bello, quanto sono figo, mi sono comprato la maglietta dell’Hackmeeting. Eh eh, ora torno a casa e domani la faccio vedere agli amici.”

Sapete qual’è il problema di base? E’ un problema di coscienza.
“Combatto il sistema perchè è sbagliato.” “Non ne posso più di politici corrotti che ingrassano a nostre spese.” Perfetto, ok, giusto. Ma mi spieghi perchè continui ad imbucarti nella coda della mensa solo perchè conosci qualcuno?
Come in alto, così in basso. Abbiamo i rappresentanti che ci meritiamo, questa è la verità.

Se prima non cominciamo a modificare la nostra coscienza, non cambieremo niente, invertiremo soltanto gli schiavi con i padroni. Tutto sarà diverso. Tutto sarà uguale a prima…

Last month I partecipated as speaker at the 3rd Pycon italian conference in one of the most beautiful cities of Italy…Florence! (Well…beautiful to visit but not to live. It could sound strange for someone because it’s the city where I was born and used to live for more than 20 years…now you know why I left…)

Let’s me say that I will not probably partecipate at this conference as speaker again. Don’t get me wrong! It was a very good experience, but there is a lot of stuffs to prepare for the talking and you can’t just relax yourself and see the conference. (Mirko, Gianni grazie per il supporto!!)

By the way, my talk concerned of integrating and using IronPython inside the XNA Framework.

L’anno scorso il mio amico canadese Jean Sebastien mi ha parlato della Poutine, una salsa che usano per condire un piatto tipico composto da patatine fritte e formaggio Raclette. Mi ha detto che non è un gran che, ma ne abbiamo parlato talmente tanto spesso che mi ha fatto venire voglia di provarla.
Così, quando Marie Andrée, una ragazza canadese anche lei in missione qui alla Ubisoft Marocco, mi ha detto di aver portato con se delle bustine di Poutine da fare in casa…le ho detto che volevo ASSOLUTAMENTE assaggiarla.
E qual’è il modo migliore se non quello di fare un party in Villa?

The city is exactly as you can imagine and it’s incredible how it pulses of life: marketplaces, snake charmers, acrobats…For those that know enough the esoteric architecture, well I think Marrakech is the heart of Morocco… and it is not by chance that all the buildings are red.

I’m really glad to have been there.
I don’t know if this is the real Morocco, but Marrakech is like I imaginated it. I can’t describe it, you have to be there, walk in the small streets of the Souk (the market), eat in the big square at the sunset, sleep in one of its enchanting Riads.
It seems to be inside an One Thousand and One Nights’s story…unfortunately I didn’t find a magic carpet…I’m still searching!
